Glass Wall

Look into my eyes and tell me
About your life.
About your dreams.
About your future.

Look at my hands and tell me
Do you like them?
Do you need them?
Do you want ...

Look at my lips and tell me
Do you want to listen?
What do you want to hear?
What do you want to feel?

Day by day I try but I can't
Hear the words you say.
I look at you and see your lips
Moving anxiously up and down

I try to touch you but I can't
I'm near, I'm next to you...
But a glass wall divides us.
Unbreakable like our souls.

I scream and I shout,
The wall is trembling.
I kick and punch
Till my hands are covered in blood.

I fall down, exhausted
I look at you through the wall
With failure in my eyes
And blood on my clothes.


I see you...
Approaching the wall...
Taking your hand...
Touching it gently...

What was once a wall
Is now shattered
Crystals of glass falling
You walking unaffected.

You help me on my feet
You tend to my wounds
I take your hand
And take you back to heaven

Not many words are left to say
One person's greatest burden
Another's salvation and life
You can't live alone
In a world full of people
